Trove — Chloromancer Guide 2026: The Best Builds

The Chloromancer in Trove is the class you play when you want to feel useful and slightly terrifying at the same time: you place gardens that heal allies, plant snaring hedgerows that make enemies cry, and lob seeds that turn into murderous botanical turrets. You’re part support, part zone-control caster, and part exploding-plant psychopath — and that mix is what makes the Chloromancer one of the most rewarding classes in Trove when you know what you’re doing.

This guide gives you the full playbook: ability breakdown, Two tuned builds, gem and gear priorities, emblem/flask/ally choices, subclass picks.

Chloromancer Abilities & Passive

Basic Attack Basic Attack

You fire a piercing beam that damages enemies and heals allies or plants it passes through. It pierces allies (healing them) and stops at the first enemy or block, so positioning is key. Heals are percent-based and scale with your plant synergy — your basic attack is not just a nuke, it’s a sustain engine.

  • Quick points: 100% MD damage per hit; heals allies for about 4% max HP and heals plants for 18% when the beam passes through them. Use it to top teammates at range and to accelerate plant growth.

Mini Bloom Mini Bloom (passive spawn)

Your basics have a chance to spawn small flowers (Mini Blooms) that will explode into pollen, dealing damage and healing allies around the bloom. Max 4 at a time; exploding them is part of many rotations.

  • Quick points: 10% spawn chance; heals allies about 5% on explosion. Use basic attack near your plants or plants near allies to maximize overlap.

Green Gatling Green Gatling

Throw a seed that grows into an automated plant turret for several seconds; each Gatling fires frequent volleys at nearby enemies. You can have several Gatlings simultaneously and healing the plant speeds its growth and rate of fire.

  • Quick points: 50 energy (approx), ~6s duration, volley-based firing — great for constant DPS and zone denial. Max 3 at a time.

Leafy Lasher Leafy Lasher

Lob a seed that grows into a snaring plant; when fully grown it spins and snares enemies while dealing damage every 0.8s. This is your crowd-control field and excellent for stopping rushes. Max 2 at a time.

  • Quick points: strong CC; snare can be effectively used to lock elite adds or keep bosses in plant fields.

Empowered Growth Empowered Growth

Your signature: for a large cooldown you empower your plants into Big Green Gatling Big Green Gatlings and Big Leafy Lasher Big Leafy Lashers — bigger damage, stronger snares, and crucially during Empowered Growth your plants heal nearby allies automatically, making this the single-most powerful support window in your kit. If you equip the Chloromancer class gem, Empowered Growth can also add even more healing.

  • Quick points: Empowers plants into larger versions, heals allies for 10% every 1.5s for 12s while active (when modified by class gem). This is your clutch-group heal and damage phase.

Hidden effects

  • Phytobarrier Phytobarrier: Creates a shield at low health that reduces damage.
  • Weird Growth Weird Growth: After dealing damage gain a buff that spawns plants randomly nearby for a short time.
  • Gatling Gatling Gatling Gatling Gatling Gatling: Basic attacks have a 5% chance to spawn a Mini Green Gatling. Mini Green Gatlings have a chance to spawn Mini Mini Green Gatlings.

Builds

Pure Support Build

If your group needs survivability, this is the build: you’re the moving garden that never lets the party die. You time Empowered Growth for heavy spikes, position Green Gatling Green Gatling and Leafy Lasher Leafy Lasher in choke points, and use Basic Attack to heal allies through the mess.

You’ll want cooldown reduction, Energy Regen, and Light so your plants heal more and last longer. This build is especially loved for high Delves and Shadow Tower where clutch heals save runs.

  • Gear stat Gear stats: Energy Regen → Attack Speed → Magic Damage → Crit Damage.
  • Gems Gems: Cosmix/Mystic into Light + Energy regen allocations; empowered gems that boost plant damage or reduce plant cooldowns.
  • Emblems: Unyielding Emblem Unyielding Emblem + Vampiric Vampiric for life stealing.
  • Ally: Chronomancer QubeslyChronomancer Qubesly (cooldown).
  • Flask: Death-Defying Vial Death-Defying Vial.

Speed-Farm Build

Plants are also efficient cleaners if you spam Green Gatling Gatling and Mini Bloom Mini Blooms. This build focuses on Attack and Movement Speed and Energy Regen so you can plant, pop, and move before spawns catch up.

  • Gear stats Gear stats: Attack Speed → Movement Speed → MD → Magic Find →Energy Regen.
  • Gems Gems: Lesser gem allocations into AS/Movement for rapid clears; cosmics into Light later.
  • Emblems: Berserker_Emblem Berserker Emblem for Move and Attack Speed + Arcane Emblem Arcane Emblem.
  • Flask: Death-Defying Vial Death-Defying Vial.
  • Ally: Chronomancer QubeslyChronomancer Qubesly (cooldown).

Rotation

Toss Green Gatling Gatlings into spawn points, run through packs with your basic-attack to trigger Mini Bloom Mini Blooms, detonate and sprint to the next spawn. You’ll clear faster than most melee classes because your plants do heavy residual damage and you rarely have to stop.

Class Gem, Subclass

Class Gem (Chloromancer)

The Chloromancer class gem modifies Plant Power Plant Power interactions — many community variants boost the healing provided during Empowered Growth.

Best Subclasses:

  • Vanguardian: if you want more damage and to front-line during heavy pulls.
  • Lunar Lancer: for farming builds — adds movement or AS boosts.

Final Thoughts

the Chloromancer is a class of patience and timing. You’re not always the loudest damage source on the scoreboard, but you will often be the deciding factor between a seamless Clear and a humiliating wipe. with Empowered Growth and plant-focused scaling, the Chloromancer is more relevant than ever.
